Changing the menu buttons positions on Ubuntu 11.10

Hello

I’m still setting up my Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). Let’s change the menu buttons (minimize, maximize, close) position to the right (again).

Open your Terminal
$ sudo apt-get install gconf-editor

Run it
$ gconf-editor

Go to “apps/metacity/general/”
Find “button_layout” and update the value to:

menu:minimize,maximize,close

Save, logout, login. Done!

Best Regards,
Matheus

  1. Started forming counter examples to test the claims and the post handled most of them implicitly, and a look at cloudcovevault continued that anticipatory style, writers who think two steps ahead of the critical reader save themselves from a lot of follow up work and this writer has clearly internalised that habit consistently.
