In this first post I’m going to introduce myself a little better. My name is Matheus Bratfisch, 19, I’m student of 3rd semester of Computer Sience in UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina) and actually I’m working in Edugraf – Educacional Software Lab. The subjects i already course:

    1st semester:

I intend to share some knowledge and to provide here some knowledge that I learned in those classes, projects and reports about them, knowledge gained in Edugraf and any other relevant information.

    So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

    How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I never could figure out what an e/w return would be once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. These days I stick my stake in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.

    The single bet calculator is the bit I open most — type in stake and odds and you get the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the multiples — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s over at how to work out each way bet and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

    The thing that genuinely shifted things for me were the geekier tools. They’ve got an probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutch tool is decent when I’m covering two or three runners.

    Couple of gripes. The design is pretty plain — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine though the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. There’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but you asked.

    Right, that’s me. Free, barely any ads, works. If you honestly adds it up in their head, try it — saves me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.

    Their single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — type in the price and your stake and it spits out returns straight away, either odds format. It also handles the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at ew single bet calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

They’ve got an odds-to-probability converter and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m covering two or three runners.

    Couple of gripes. The layout looks very functional, let’s say — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

    So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
